Abstract: With a research on IBM “Smart Planet” initiative, the article analyzes its possible influences on China and proposes that China shall attach strategic importance to its influence on national information industry and information security, strengthen the follow-up research on it, expedite the building of “China’s internet of things”, promote the development of modern service industries in China, establish pilot programs in key areas, and master the core technologies in the initiative.
