Abstract: It’s important for government to quicken the strategic emerging industries so that adjust industry structure and support long economic increase. Through persistent product innovation or process innovation that lead to dominant designs, the emerging industries on new technological trajectories will build newly innovation competence and market structure. After analyzing the technology system, innovation modes, dominant designs, industrial scale and market environment about the current strategic emerging industries, this paper points out that most of them are in ferment or growing phase. The government should draft some comprehensive plans, chose appropriate support patterns according to the characteristics and relationship among different industries so as to increase innovation competence.
