Abstract: Parents’ expectation about children’s future career reflects the social members' career preference and social stratification situation. It will also influence children's future career. Based on a national sampling survey data, this article analyses parents' expectation on their children's future careers. It discovered that most parents planed their children's future career very early, and parents generally favored the careers that are very professional,stable,and with high social reputation. Parents expectation is influenced by children's sex, study result, and their own social economic status.
