Abstract: As a developed country in science and technology, the U.S. has a rather mature and unique system for priority setting in the science and technology field. Analysis and study of these priorities provide China with valuable experiences in its science and technology planning and preparing of the plan. The article analyzes priority setting in science and technology at various levels in the U.S. in 2005-2009. With features and trends identified, the article draws several lessons in priority setting.
