Abstract: Rural informatization is very important for the development in rural area and altering the rural appearance of poverty and backwardness. The rural area IT program initiated in 2007 in Ningxia Autonomous Region. It becomes the first national socialism new rural area IT pilot program at the province level. Within the scope of the program, the report is the result of field survey on overall structure, management mechanism, operational achievements, and major practices in Ningxia’s rural IT drive. Ningxia’s practices are valuable experiences in resources integration of the “first mile” and information terminal services of the “last mile” for building a long-term mechanism. Information village and town programs nationwide, especially in west area, can also draw on their experiences.
