79th Report in 2010: Technology for Vertical Axis Wind Turbine Set Will Bring Revolution in Development of Wind Power Industry

Abstract: Based on introduction of global wind power industry, development of wind power set technology, and developing model of wind power set to be changed by vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT), the article analyzes present situation, trend, and issues in future development of VAWT in China. It proposes related development recommendations at the national strategic level of developing new energy, such as paying great attention to the influences of VAWT development on China’s wind power industry, providing super large VAWT development with theoretical and technological supports with strengthened efforts in VAWT basic theory research and technological breakthrough, promoting process of VAWT industrialization through expediting construction of VAWT demonstration projects, and cultivating VAWT industrial bases by forging alliance in wind power industry and building the technological platform system.
