86th Report in 2010: How to be More Effective in Supporting Cooperation among Industries, Universities, and Institutes

Abstract: Integration of industries, universities, and institutes is important in the national S&T program. The article briefs present situation and major issues in supporting such integration by the current programs in China. Related experiences from other countries are also discussed. The article then proposes recommendations like including new types of organizations such as technology alliance in the supporting programs, establishing mechanisms for sharing of benefits and risks, improving management mode of S&T planning, adopting different supporting and organizing mode for parties to the cooperation, and establishing good financial systems in implementing of S&T programs.
