Abstract: Through the tracking study of IBM's "smart planet" strategy, this paper analyses its impact to the world, especially to China. It points out many problems that China should pay attention, such as the choice of technical route, repeated construction and market risks, and data management and information safety. It proposes some suggestions such as treating the data of things of Internet as national strategic resource, forming independent technology system of "smart China" as soon as possible, and insisting the principle of development in an appropriate scale.
