On April 21, 2014, Minister Wan Gang met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in Beijing.
Minister Wan gave a snapshot of the Chinese government‘s EV development objectives, policies and demonstration projects, while Musk presented the performance and development of Tesla in China. The two sides exchanged views on EV technology, standards and supporting facility as well as innovation ecosystem.
Mr. Zhang Zhihong, Deputy Director General of Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, and Mr. Chen Jiachang, Deputy Director General of the Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization, attended the meeting.
