On July 6, 2016, a six-member EU delegation led by Vladimir Šucha, Director-General of the Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Commission, paid a visit to CASTED. CASTED President Hu Zhijian received the delegation and chaired a seminar. The two sides introduced their respective institution and research areas and functions and agreed to explore cooperation in various research areas.

After the seminar, Vladimir Šucha made a presentation on the “Role of Research Activities of JRC in EU Policy Making” and discussed with other attendees on relevant topics.

Other members of the delegation included Liliana Pasecinic, Head of Sector for International Relations, JRC, Laurent Bochereau, , Minister Counsellor, Delegation of the European Union to China, and Zhong Wen, of the Science, Technology and Environmental Sector, Delegation of the European Union to China. CASTED vice presidents Wu Yishan and Wang Fenyu also joined the abovementioned activities. Relevant research personnel at CASTED also attended the seminar.
