On the morning of December 3, a Korean delegation led by Lee Jang-moo, Chairman of National Science & Technology Council (NSTC) of Korea, paid a visit to CASTED. CASTED President Hu Zhijian and Vice President Wang Fenyu met with the delegation.

In his welcoming address, Hu Zhijian introduced CASTED. Lee Jang-moo explained the purpose of the visit was to get an informed understanding of China’s S&T development strategy and policy formation processes, advisory and research mechanisms of local government S&T policymaking, and China’s international cooperation in S&T policy.

Other members of the Korean delegation included Director-General of Department of Science and Technology Policy and Minister Councilor of the Korean Embassy in China. Representatives of CASTED Institute of Comprehensive Development, Institute of Science and Technology Systems and Management, and Department of Research Management also attended the meeting.

The National Science & Technology Council (NSTC) of Korea is the highest authority that reviews Korea’s major national S&T policies, including main policies and programs, national research budget allocation and coordination, and investigation, analysis and evaluation.
