On 9 September, 2013, the second governing board meeting was held in CASTED premises, where the board members reviewed and approved the annual report (2012-2013) and plan (2013-2014).

The meeting was attended by ten board members (from left to right on the photo): Li Zhengfeng, James Wilsdon, Wang Yuan, Song Jong-Guk, Cao Jianlin, Lidia Brito (attending the meeting on behalf of Gretchen Kalonj, Assistant DG for Natural Sciences of UNESCO), Lv Wei, El Tayeb Mustafa, Qin Changwei and Kevin Chika Urama.
